Devon & Somerset Local Skills Improvement Plan is being led by Devon & Plymouth Chamber of Commerce and Somerset Chamber of Commerce. It aims to work with employers and education providers in the ‘Heart of the South West’ region of Devon and Somerset.
The Devon & Somerset Local Skills Improvement Plan is part of the government’s Skills Accelerator programme, which follows the Skills for Jobs White Paper published in January 2021, with a clear focus on stronger links between employers and providers.
The Government wants to use the findings from pilot activity to engage with businesses in our region and report on the outcome to further education establishments so they can adjust their curriculum accordingly to meet the needs of the employers.
Both Devon & Plymouth Chamber and Somerset Chamber of Commerce have a long history of successfully and effectively working with employers and the education sector.
