Employers in Devon and Somerset are being invited to a series of forums this spring where they will get the opportunity to have their say on the future of skills in the region.
These events are designed to introduce businesses and organisations to the new Devon & Somerset Local Skills Improvement Plan (LSIP), a once-in-a-generation opportunity to produce a skilled workforce better matched to the needs of business.
Run in partnership by Somerset Chamber of Commerce and Devon & Plymouth Chamber of Commerce, the LSIP will allow businesses to have their say on the future of the skills provision and the skills business needs most to succeed.
These events will help us to identify any skills gaps that are holding our region back, which will subsequently allow us to collaborate with our region’s universities, colleges and training providers and develop programmes which are appropriate to defining local skills needs.
If you are an employer in Devon or Somerset, share your views with our Devon & Somerset LSIP team by completing the short form here.
Our forums will cover a number of different sectors, and our team will be on hand to listen to you and work with you to consider the ‘measurable actions’ we can take to support you with upskilling your current workforce and providing future workforces with the right types of skills to make them fit and ready for employment.
